Established in 1982, the Cordon Vert Cookery School is part of the Vegetarian Society charity. In the early 90s the schools’ main objective was focused around training members of the public. In 2008, the School had a bit of a ‘make-over’ and work began to transform the school into a modern stainless steel kitchen with commercial grade equipment. The changes allowed us to progress into the future by offering chefs the highest possible standards in the workspace and equipment. The new modern kitchens, based in the beautiful surroundings of a Victorian mansion now hosts Professional Diplomas, workshops, cookery demonstrations, wine tasting and more. We have always been passionate about vegetarian cuisine and our courses are open to anyone, whether vegetarian or not.
To kick start our new blog, we are very excited to announce that our annual Chef of the Future competition is now open for entries. Previous winners include Chef Gary Ashley (pictured) and Eddie Shepherd.
The winners dishes have always been of such a high standard and we always look forward to reading such inspirational and interesting menus.
We are into the sixth year of our competition and we are looking forward to seeing what special dishes the 2014 competition will bring. All the information, criteria and application form are available here on our website. The Closing date is Wednesday 16th April 2014. We will be kicking off our blog with regular updates throughout the run up and during the competition itself. Good Luck!
